Welcome to WinterSpring Dressage, home of dressage trainer and instructor Sue Thome. Sue is an accomplished rider with show experience through the Prix St George level, and offers instruction and training to students of all levels. Through kind and systematic training, riders and horses are brought up to their full potential. Never rushed or forced in their development, students and their mounts enjoy their journey through the levels.

Sue and her husband Mike, who is also the farm veterinarian, built WinterSpring Farm in 1997 and over the next few years watched it grow from a personal training barn to the full service facility it is today. Offering a beautiful large indoor arena with mirrors and dust free footing, a heated barn for winter riding, and large grassy pastures for grazing in the summer months, WinterSpring Farm is Central Michigan’s premier facility.

Sue’s students range from young riders with the highest of show aspirations to adults just wanting to enjoy dressage at home. Sue also travels to other locations and has established a large student body in the Des Moines Iowa area. Her Iowa students make regular visits to WinterSpring Farm and several show with Sue and her Michigan students in region II.

Recently, jumper trainer Carrie Wilson began training from WinterSpring Farm. She brings many years of experience starting young horses and specializes in horses changing disciplines between dressage and jumping. Carrie’s background includes FEI dressage experience making her an ideal addition to the program.
